EVALUATION SUPPORT FOR THE CDC OPIOID DATA-TO-ACTION GRANT

Andrea provided evaluation services for four projects within the grant, including a project focused on multidisciplinary pain management offered at federally qualified health centers, a project that implements a non-traumatic dental pain management protocol within emergency department settings, a project using academic detailing to increase pharmacists’ dispensing of naloxone to patients who are filling opioid prescriptions, and a project that establishes and supports overdose fatality review teams across the state of Wisconsin.


UNITED WAY OF PORTAGE COUNTY

NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND COUNTY-WIDE LOCAL INDICATORS FOR EXCELLENCE (LIFE) REPORT

Andrea and Amy executed a needs assessment process with Portage County stakeholders to determine the United Way’s “Calls to Action.” The process culminated in a LIFE Report that documented the process, the recommendations of the Steering Committee, and the final “Calls to Action.”


WISCONSIN CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT PREVENTION BOARD

PROCESS EVALUATION OF THE "FIVE FOR FAMILIES” GUIDEBOOK

Andrea and Amy designed and carried out a process evaluation of the “Five for Families” guidebook, a book that parents and educators can use to explore and build on the five protective factors that increase families’ ability to overcome challenges, support the optimal development of children, and reduce the likelihood of child maltreatment. The project entailed focus groups with educators and caregivers as well as the collection and analysis of quantitative data.


Dane County’s Department of Human Services

Evaluation planning and Design, Development, and deployment of a Database for the “Joining Forces For Families” Program

Andrea developed an evaluation plan for the program as well as designed and deployed a data collection system. The project will help the program track the services they deliver to program participants and the neighborhoods in which they are embedded as well as assist in future process and outcome evaluation work. Amy provided facilitation to the program to solidify a vision and mission statement before work began on a logic model.


Madison’s Northside Early Childhood Zone

Shared Measurement and Data Management

Andrea has developed shared measures for the Northside Early Childhood Zone’s Collective Impact approach to delivering home visiting and additional services to families. The shared measures focus on establishing common definitions and ways of measuring family demographics, child outcomes, and receipt of other services (e.g., housing services) across three different home visiting programs and six additional programs. She designed and deployed a database to manage the data. Staff enter data for evaluation and quality improvement purposes. She has also prepared quarterly and annual reports. Planning for A comprehensive Mental Health Consultation Program

Andrea and Amy developed a plan for a comprehensive mental health consultation program with input from an advisory committee. The legislature required a concept paper, business plan, and standards for a comprehensive mental health consultation program that incorporated general, geriatric, and addiction psychiatry, Wisconsin’s PeriScope Project (perinatal psychiatry consultation program, and the Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program.


Dane County’s Department of Human Services

Design, Development, and deployment of a Database for the “Early Childhood Initiative” Program

Andrea designed and deployed a data collection system for the program that will help them track key metrics about child, caregiver, and family wellbeing as well as assist in future outcome evaluation work.

Colpscopy Program Reports

Amy documented the process that the Colposcopy Program used over the past 10 years to develop their statewide program that supports health clinics in delivering colposcopy services to women and delivered an internal-facing report. In addition, Andrea developed a 10-year retrospective report that showcased the program’s accomplishments. Click here to read the external-facing report.

Evaluation Support for Academic Detailing about prescription opioids

Andrea provided evaluation support to three health systems that worked on using academic detailing to decrease the use of prescription opioids to reduce pain among their patient populations. She developed logic models, designed patient and provider surveys, and developed data tracking spreadsheets for their work. She compiled quarterly reports and put together final reports for all of the projects.


WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION FOR PERINATAL CARE

PILOT PROJECT EVALUATION AND QI TOOL

Andrea and Amy evaluated the implementation of WAPC’s Comprehensive Model of Care for Pregnant Women Affected by Opioids at two pilot sites in Northern Wisconsin. In addition, Andrea developed an initial version of a quality improvement tool for the model that could be used to improve service delivery for pregnant women who are affected by opioid use.


American Family Children’s Hospital - Child Health Advocacy Center

Injury Prevention Unit Annual REport

Andrea and Amy developed an annual report for the Child Health Advocacy Center’s Injury Prevention Unit. The report included a summary of shared metrics across the injury prevention programs that are offered through the Unit as well as specific sections that showcase each program’s results.

The report utilized existing data to highlight program accomplishments and also allowed for additional data elements to be added to the report as the Unit’s data collection is enhanced from year to year.


Wisconsin’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board

Parenting Program Reach and Shared MEasurement

Andrea conducted background research and suggested multiple ways to measure the potential reach and impact of the Prevention Parenting Programs implementation of the Triple P program. In addition, she reviewed three parenting programs to determine possible shared measures; she reviewed existing literature, reviewed program documentation, and compiled new and existing measures.


Great Rivers United Way

Compass Now 2018 Needs Assessment Report

After a 3-year long needs assessment process to understand the health, social, economic, and educational needs of the Great Rivers Region, Andrea was hired to document the outcomes of that process. She provided basic graphic design for the report (e.g., layout, color scheme, fonts), interpretation of data provided by the United Way, data visualization, textual copy of the report, and the incorporation of feedback by a review committee. Wisconsin Maternal and Child Health Program

Needs Assessment, Strategic Planning, and Program Transformation

This program went through a federally-required program transformation in 2014-15. Andrea led a year-and-a-half long, statewide needs assessment process, which resulted in the identification of new priority areas and the selection of state and national performance measures. She then led a strategic planning process that identified strategies to "move the needle" on the performance measures. Finally, she designed the data collection tools and database to gather information on the implementation and outputs of the strategies. Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program

Year One Report

This program aims to deliver psychiatric consultation to children's primary care providers. Andrea developed a report that summarized the work accomplished in year one of the program. Click here to see the published report.
